Cannot initialise download

I did look for an answer in other parts of the website to no avail. I downloaded, from Total Gaming Net, WW2 Frontline Command - which I couldn't find listed in the Support area . I've downloaded all the files but when I try to initialise the game I get:
"Error:
No DirectX compatible display found."
I am running Win XP Pro and as far as I can see from my dxdiag.exe file I've got DirectX 9.0c on my computer.
Any ideas please or can you point me in the right direction?
Dave H.
